Heather is Director of Clouds End CIC, is a trainer, an activist for people who hoard, facilitator of three support groups. She also established the Pan London Hoarding Task Force and recently launched a National Task Force initiative.

Dr Satwant Singh  (CBT Training) -Trainer HoardingUK, Trustee: Clinical Director, HoardingUK
Dr. Singh is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, a Nurse Consultant in CBT and Mental Health and a Clinical Lead for a primary care psychological service in London. He has co-facilitated the London Hoarding Treatment Group since 2005.

Dr Singh with his colleagues have undertaken a number of research project using Visual Methods in developing interventions to deal with hoarding issues, facilitated workshops and training in this field. In addition to academic publications he has co-authored Overcoming Hoarding published by Robinson Press self-help book based on CBT techniques for individuals, family members, carers and professionals.

Julie Wilson  (Housing Officer Training) – Trainer HoardingUK
Julie led Hoarding Awareness Week on behalf of Pan London Hoarding Taskforce (PLHT). Julie has been providing Hoarding training for internal staff and contractors at Optivo (formerly Amicus Horizon) since 2014 and has presented at Housemark’s Tenancy Sustainability Training to Anti-social Behaviour Clubs as well as to Fire And Rescue Services.

 

Aims

All of our training is designed to be an educational, interactive and empowering working to positively impact participant’s active client work and improve outcomes for people who hoard as well as the professionals and others who engage with them.

 

Target Audience

Our courses are largely designed for professionals who work with people who hoard.  Practitioners are encouraged bring their current hoarding related work to sessions which ensures the day is integrated into practice.

Our Recovery College and Support Group development training engage people with hoarding behaviour.

Support Group Development Programme  (Year Long Model)

  • Training takes place once a month for six months
  • Support group for people being supported by professionals runs alongside the training six months
  • After six months the group is handed over to the organisation creating a sustainable and on-going support model
  • Includes all aspects of two-day training, including motivational interviewing
  • Ongoing integrated case management
  • Outcomes are policy and practice tools as well as an action plan

Costs

Professional Training (6 sessions)

Up to 15 trainees:  £1,750
16 to 30 trainees:  £1,800

(No restrictions on professional attendees.  Focus of work is on the professionals directly supporting the clients in the group.  Others attend as observers.  Service provides training/support group space.)

Support Group (6 sessions)

Up to 15 attendees:  £1,750  (No more than 15 per group allowed.  Can go up to 2.5 hours depending on size.)

Fees for training include preparation, travel (within greater London, outside London train fares will be reimbursable) and travel time, training materials, and delivery of training. 

From 30 people attending, costs per session of training rise at £50 per additional 15.
