The Impact of Counselling in Compulsive Hoarding Interventions Within the Context of

the Social Model of Disability: Finding a Way Forward

 

The purpose of this study was to explore the impact Health and Safety problems created by Compulsive Hoarding had on the client’s ability to receive psychological support.  The project was prompted as a result of the researchers work with a UK National Mental Health Charity which involved weekly contact from people impacted by the personal, interpersonal, ethical and legal impasses created in regard to rights around this issue.  The aim of the research was to better understand the practical handling of Compulsive Hoarding, especially in regard to Mental Health, in order to accurately inform the design and development of an improved systemic model…Click here to read more
